- Roof area, not house sizeA steep roof carries far more surface than its footprint suggests. Two homes with identical square footage can differ by a third once pitch is measured.
- Valleys, dormers and hipsEvery direction change needs custom flashing and hand-cut panels. Complexity costs labour, not material.
- Condition of your deckingWe install over a sound existing roof in most cases, which saves tear-off and disposal. If the deck needs work, you will see it itemised before you commit.
- Panel and finishSteel or aluminum, and the coating system you choose. Both carry the same transferable lifetime warranty.
- Details and penetrationsChimneys, skylights, vents and solar mounts each need their own flashing work.

Answering Your Questions
Is a metal roof more expensive than asphalt?
Up front, yes — roughly two to three times the cost. Over 30 years, no. Asphalt in Ontario lasts 15–20 years, so you buy it two or three times; steel is bought once and carries a transferable lifetime warranty. The comparison table above shows the arithmetic.
Can you install a metal roof over my existing roof?
In most cases, yes. Installing over a sound existing roof avoids tear-off costs, keeps two to three tonnes of waste out of landfill, and shortens the job. We check deck condition during the assessment — if the decking is compromised we'll tell you before you commit, and it will be itemised on your quote.
Is a metal roof noisy when it rains?
No — this is the most persistent myth in the trade. The noise people remember comes from bare metal over an open barn frame. On a house with solid decking, underlayment, attic space and insulation, a steel roof is no louder than asphalt.
Will a steel roof rust?
Our panels are galvanized and factory-finished with a coating system rated for decades of Canadian exposure. Rust perforation is covered under the lifetime warranty.
Do you install in winter?
Yes, year-round. Steel panels don't need warm weather to seal the way asphalt does, so our crews are equipped to install through the Ontario winter. Winter is often our fastest turnaround.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are finished in two to four working days. Complex roofs with many valleys or dormers take longer, and we'll give you the schedule in writing before we start.
Is financing available?
Yes, on approved credit, with monthly terms. Our seniors' discount applies in addition to any current promotion. Ask about both when you book your assessment.
